The under paintings of my next painting set (I don’t stop ever….).
My work currently seeks to question the role of the animal in human habitual spaces such as architecture, technology, psychology, and myths though visual form and representation.
The under paintings of my next painting set (I don’t stop ever….).
The Diver
Acrylic and Resin on Wood Panel.
24” x 24”
Another resin painting that I just completed. I was simultaneously working on this piece along with the peacock and alpaca pieces. I wish computer screens had a 3D element to them though, because it is extremely difficult to capture the dimensional properties through 2D dimensional properties, it is especially difficult to see the mystery animal.
This one is much more abstract. Like all my pieces it still has an animal in it but, it is heavily integrated into the painting. See if you can spot it. Can you guess what it is?
It’s doodle Wednesday! Just taking a break today from breathing in resin fumes and just doodling simple stuff with markers. Things like half pandas and turtles.
My newest experiments! Both are painted with acrylic and resin layering.
9” x 12”.
I’m quite happy with these two little baby paintings. Now time to move up in scale.
This past Saturday I went to the 60 Painters exhibition and symposium at Humber college. It was a great survey of contemporary Canadian painting and a must see. I did not take any pictures beacuse photos can’t do the pieces justice. However, if you are in the Etobicoke area from now till June 8th you should go check it out.
Above are some ideas I’ve scribbled for another small (well the paintings themselves will be fairly large) set of work, again using resin.
Also I am almost done the two smaller resin paintings I have been working on and will be uploading them tomorrow!
Francis Bacon. “Anatomy of an Engima”. Page 309.
Just some inspirational and true words by Francis Bacon I found in his biography by Michael Peppiatt.
The great thing about resin painting is the layers take so long to dry I can catch up on my reading!

Just some pigeons sitting in their dirty pigeon square under the bridge. I added a filter to make them seem cooler than they really are.
The two smaller resin paintings that I am also working on. Much like my other larger painting I’m only on the first two layers. I think these have the potential to become a larger series if this resin painting experiment goes well.
The beginnings of my experiement of painting with resin layers. I’ve only applied two layers so far. It’s much slower process than acrylic glazing so I’m trying to be patient! Also working on some smaller sketchier pieces that I will upload later.
Some figurative loon sketches for an upcoming painting.
For anyone who’s interested I’ve compiled all my photographic documentation of the process of making for my graduating exhibition this past April on into an organized Behance project.

Way better than sifting through my blog.
Just a rough *empahsis on rough* sketch I’ve doodled while I brainstorm/plan my next painting project.
The fourth of four paintings I made since my move to Mississauga. I’m calling the short series Ghosts of Beasts. This is the fourth; the wolf.
The paintings use iridescent and interference paints so I have provided images of the painting head on and on angle to show how the paint changes as the angle of light changes.
